I hold a BA and Honours in Psychology, the same academic level as a registered counsellor, along with an MA in Psychological Research. That means I have a solid base of research and evidence at my fingertips. I won't sit here quoting studies at you, but if you ever want the reasoning or evidence behind a particular approach, I'm always happy to share it. I'm currently working through my credentialling with the ICF, and I've completed significant formal training in coaching as a practice.
Open, free-flowing, and focused on your strengths and growth. We work with whatever's relevant to your goals, and if that takes a winding route, we travel it together. If your goals shift along the way, we adjust our compass accordingly. At its core, my style is about you: support, challenge, compassion, and structure, all in balance. I mainly use the GROW model, a simple coaching framework built around four stages: your Goal (what you want), your Reality (where you're at now), your Options (what's possible), and your Will (what you'll actually commit to). It gives us the structure we need, while staying flexible enough to follow wherever the exploration leads.
I work with a broad range of challenges, including life transitions, relational difficulties, self-actualisation, leadership development, career transitions and purpose-driven change, and confidence, motivation and decision-making. That said, I don't work with acute psychological distress that would be better addressed by a therapist, registered counsellor, psychologist, or psychiatrist. That doesn't mean our engagement has to end if that's what you need, though. Coaching is often used alongside mental health care to support its effectiveness, and we can look at how you're best supported, whatever that journey looks like for you.
Yes, I do. I'm not a mentor coach, but helping professionals are particularly susceptible to heightened rates of occupational stress, and that's exactly where I step in. My Master's thesis focused on occupational stress and adaptive coping among helping professionals, so I'm well-versed and well-equipped to support you in that specific space.
Predominantly online. If that doesn't suit you, bring it up during your chemistry session and we'll find what works for you.
Sessions are traditionally 50 minutes. If we run a little over, that's not a problem at all. As for frequency, we meet as regularly as you need, and we figure that out together.
We talk about what's brought you to coaching, whether my style feels like a good fit, and what you want to get out of the process. There's no commitment attached, so if it doesn't lead to an ongoing coaching relationship, that's completely fine. If we're both happy to move forward, we sort out the logistics. This is the one point where I might do a bit more talking than usual, simply so you have what you need to make an informed decision. I also keep a fairly sizable directory of other practitioners, so if someone else would suit your needs or style better, I won't hesitate to point you in their direction.
Therapy tends to focus on alleviating and managing psychological distress that's typically diagnosable. I'm not a registered counsellor, psychologist, or psychiatrist, so I'm not authorised to treat mental health conditions of that nature. Coaching, by contrast, focuses on empowerment, growth, and self-actualisation. We look at what's happening for you right now and aim toward the future, touching on the past only where it's genuinely useful. If you do have a diagnosed mental health difficulty, that doesn't mean we can't work together, coaching can be a valuable way to support other treatment you're receiving.
No, it isn't. Coaching and therapy serve different purposes, as outlined above, coaching is focused on growth and forward movement, not on treating diagnosable psychological distress.
I'll raise it openly, and we'll work through it together. I may not be able to offer treatment myself if that's what's needed, but I can absolutely support you through the process of finding and accessing the right care.
Yes, completely. Nothing goes beyond our sessions, unless there's probable cause for me to be concerned about your welfare or someone else's. Even then, I wouldn't act without speaking to you first, we work through that together too.
I'm happy to accommodate where needed, but the industry standard for someone at my level of training and competency is R1050 per session. If my pricing changes in future, I'll always let you know ahead of time. I won't increase the rate for sessions we've already scheduled, or partway through an existing coaching engagement. If we conclude an engagement and you return at a later date for something new, the updated rate would apply at that point.
That really depends on what you're looking for, and it's something we decide together. The general trend tends to land around 10 sessions, but you're by no means locked into that. We can adjust up or down as needed, whatever actually fits your journey.
